Celebrating and Promoting the Gypsy Cob and Drum Horse Partbreds

The GCDHA celebrates and promotes the beauty and versatiliy that the Gypsy Cob and the Drum Horse can add when crossed with other horse breeds.  Whether the cross is bred for Dressage, Eventing, 4H or Trail, the cross results in horses with more bone and lovely temperaments.

Registration Classifications for Gypsy Cob Partbreds

Gypsy Cob Part-breds must maintain a minimum of 50% Gypsy Cob breeding and must be DNA tested to verify parentage.  Horses registered in the Gypsy Cob division, either full or part-bred, cannot be dual registered as Drum Horses, either full or part-bred.  Acceptable examples of the minimum 50% Gypsy Cob breeding would be: 1 parent a registered Gypsy Cob (Vanner or Gypsy Horse) and 1 parent of any other breed or both parents who are 50% Gypsy Cob (Vanner or Gypsy Horse).  The Gypsy Cob parent or ancestor does not have to be registered with the Gypsy Cob and Drum Horse Assoc. but does have to be registered with one of the existing registries or have been approved by the GCDHA and have submitted photos and DNA sample.

Registration Classifications for Drum Horse Partbreds

Drum Horse Part-breds must maintain a minimum of 50% Drum Horse breeding.  Horses registered in the Drum Horse division, either full or part-bred, cannot be dual registered as full or part-bred Gypsy Cobs.
